Just when you thought it was safe to go back to work...

I spoke to soon. No wonder I don't get any work done here.

Speaking of, I've been doing some coffee-related research. I'm drinking Folgers at home *shudder*. Can anyone give me a review of the following varietals?

  • Mattari Mocha (Yemen)
  • Indian in general (esp. from Karnatka/Mysore, Kerala, Tamilnadu/Madras)
  • Altura Coatepec (Mexico)
  • Antigua (Guatemalan)
  • Coban (Guatemalan)
  • Huehuetenango (Guatemalan)

What I'm looking for: chocolateness, spiciness (esp. cinnamon, clove), sweetness
What I avoid: anything darker than a medium roast (why do they always say "bold"? it's not "bold", it's burnt), acidity

There is a coffee from Germany sold under the brand Tchibo (available in most major supermarkets) that I find really good.

Now I've been largely coffee free since last August, so I can't remember enough about the taste to offer views on Chocolateness or Spiciness. But it's good, and a pound is maybe a dollar or two more then Folgers.

And of course if you can find it, and are willing to pay for it Hawaiian Coffee is orgasmically amazing.
